SELECTING AND SPECIFYING THE PRODUCT
1 Product Description and Suitable Applications
With Sealtec's expertise in waterproof membrane systems and our technical partnership with international membrane manufacturers and suppliers Henkel Polybit Industries Ltd and Pazkar Ltd, the Bituplus Torch Applied Membrane System was developed for:
- Waterproofing structures in contact with earth (horizontal & vertical)
- Waterproofing roofs and other horizontal areas (e.g. balconies, terraces, podiums etc)
- Renovating old roofs and other existing horizontal areas (e.g. balconies, terraces, podiums etc).
Bituplus is suitable for application to concrete, plywood, fibre cement and bituminous surfaces –see Substrate Requirements and Compatibility for full details. |
Sealtec Waterproofing Systems are a complete membrane solution, supported by a range of specialty products to provide assurance and security against the penetration of water in any form.
The Bituplus Torch Applied Membrane System consists of polyester reinforced, polymer modified bitumen membranes, giving the complete system excellent tensile strength, elongation, and tear resistance for superior durability.
Sealtec has incorporated bitumen membrane under flashings, movement joints and extra internal external corner gusseting in critical areas to be applied as part of the system.
Sealtec specify all ancillary products to be used as part of the Bituplus Torch Applied Membrane System for ease of design and application.

External use - Structures in contact with earth i.e. Below Grade Tanking |
External Weatherproofing use: i.e. Roofs, Podiums, Decks/Balconies |
| This system consists of one layer of Bituplus P3160 torch applied polymer modified bitumen membrane applied directly to a primed concrete or concrete block substrate. |
This system consists of two layers of torch applied polymer modified bitumen membrane: First layer Bituplus P3160 applied directly to a primed concrete, plywood or compressed sheet substrate, followed by a second layer of either Bituplus P3160, Bituplus P4180 or Polyplast applied directly over the Bituplus P3160 base sheet taking care to stagger sheet joints by at least half a sheet. |
 |
 |
This system creates a plain finish membrane system totalling 3.0mm in thickness. On completion this system must be protected with Sealtec Star Drain. |
This system creates a plain bitumen or fine mineral chip finish double layer membrane system totalling 6 - 7mm in thickness. |
