SELECTING AND SPECIFYING THE PRODUCT
1 Product Description and Suitable Applications
|
With Sealtec's expertise in waterproof membrane systems and our technical partnership with international membrane manufacturers and suppliers Gripset Industries Pty Ltd , the SealGUARD Cementitious Membrane System was developed for:
- Waterproofing internal wet areas and showers
- Waterproofing balconies, terraces and podiums
- Waterproofing immersed and subterranean areas
SealGUARD is suitable for application to concrete, fibre cement, wet area timber sheeting and external grade plywood surfaces –see Substrate Requirements and Compatibility for full details. SealGUARD is suitable for cool or humid environments to enable tiling after 24 hours.
|
Sealtec Waterproofing Systems are a complete membrane solution, supported by a range of specialty products to provide assurance and security against the penetration of water in any form.
The SealGUARD Cementitious Membrane System consists of a two component latex polymer enhanced cementitious membrane, providing a unique durable membrane while maintaining flexible and permanent waterproofing properties.
SealGUARD is fast drying and possesses high adhesion to a range of substrates while providing outstanding bonding properties to surface finishes such as renders, screeds and tile adhesives.
Sealtec has incorporated under flashings, movement joints and extra internal external corner gusseting in critical areas to be applied as part of the system.
Sealtec specify all ancillary products to be used as part of the SealGUARD Cementitious Membrane System for ease of design and application.
|
This system consists of two layers of polymer enhanced cementitious membrane: First layer SealGUARD applied directly to a primed substrate, followed by a second layer of SealGUARD applied directly over the SealGUARD base layer taking care to apply at different directions to the previous layer. |
 |
This system creates a two coat membrane system totalling up to 3mm thick. On completion this system must be covered with a suitable tile bed, finish topping or floating deck. |
